Are you a Control Freak?!

Do you like to do everything yourself? This week is about letting you know you can still maintain control without doing everything yourself and burning yourself out.
I decided to choose a card for you this week from my Wisdom of the Hidden Realms Oracle deck by Colette Baron-Reid. The card I chose is 'The Horse King'.

The Horse King brings you the power to go the distance, whatever your circumstance. He also reminds you that you don't have to do everything on your own. Delegate to others so they can help you. You are in a position to make your dreams come true, but remain open to those that can help you. Let go of control and amazing things can happen.

Here are a few practical tips to help:

1 - Start slow, surrender a little control at a time. You don't have to do it all at once.

2 - Understand that people are different and although they may not do things the same way as you, their way could be just as effective and in some cases more so.

3 - Share. You don't have to feel like you'll be burdening people and the more you share your life with those closest to you, your relationships will improve.

4 - Trust, Set guidelines for how you want things done and trust that whoever you are giving that bit of control too will follow them. They will want you to trust them just as much as you want to trust them.

5 - Ask for Help, You really don't have to do it all yourself and more often than not people are really happy to help. It's one of the basic human needs to be able to contribute.

Embracing Fear!

Yes you heard that right, Embrace it. Fear is natural, normal and healthy. It is part of our survival mechanism.
Unfortunately, sometimes fear can take us over in an unhealthy way and stop us from moving forward.
If you are experiencing any fear at all in your life right now. It is a sign that you are about to take a very important step forward on your path.

Are you trying to do too much at once? Take some baby steps, do one small thing at a time and focus on that.
Often where there is fear, there is a lack of faith and the one thing we fear to do, is the very thing which will lead us to our own empowerment.
Fear is the factor which we must all overcome in order to step into our power.

Mini Exercise:
Breathe, and as you relax your body and release your mind. Trust yourself. Trust in the Universe. Surround yourself with the energy of unconditional love and support, however it works for you. Notice where the fear sits in your body, notice how it feels, does it have a shape, a colour? Just sit with that fear, all the while surrounding yourself with that loving supportive energy. It will dissipate.

Remember, fear is just a feeling, not a reality.  Your heart is calling for you to go onwards and upwards. Be fearless, and Go big. You know you can do it and are fully supported on your journey.

Do You Feel Worthy?

Self-esteem or Self-worth is your opinion of yourself. Everyone lacks confidence sometimes but people with low self-worth are unhappy or unsatisfied with themselves most of the time. Low self-worth can cause problems including depression and anxiety.
Do you find yourself self-criticising, do you doubt your own abilities and avoid challenges, maybe you push yourself too hard through your constant intent for things to be perfect. Maybe you're full of anger and bully others, or you could just be unkind to yourself, eating the wrong foods and not letting yourself do the things that give you the most joy.

STOP!! Right now, if you ever catch yourself doing any of this, say to yourself STOP. You must be the most important person in your life. Give yourself some self-love. Focus on what is awesome and remarkable about you. When you truly care for yourself, you are more able to care for others and make a difference in their lives. Value yourself first and others will value you.

Here are a few things you can do to amp up your self-worth...

Self-esteem is strongly related to how you view and react to the things that happen in your life.

1.   Talk to yourself in a positive way – treat yourself as you would your    best  friend. Be supportive, kind and understanding. Don’t be hard on  yourself  when you make a mistake.
2.   Challenge negative ‘self-talk’ – every time you criticise yourself, stop      and look for objective evidence that the criticism is true. You will realise    that most of your negative self-talk is unfounded.
3.   Don’t compare yourself to others – know that everyone is different.  Make an effort to accept yourself, warts and all.
4.   Acknowledge the positive – don’t brush off compliments, dismiss your  achievements as ‘dumb luck’ or ignore your positive traits.
5.  Appreciate your  awesomeness – remind yourself of your good points  every day. Write a list and refer to it often. (If you feel you can’t think of  anything good about yourself, ask a friend to help you write the list.)
6.   Let go of the past – concentrate on living in the here-and-now rather    than reliving old hurts and disappointments.
7.   Give yourself a positive message everyday – buy a set of ‘inspirational  cards’ and start each day reading out a new card and carrying the card’s    message with you all day.
8.   Stop worrying – ‘worry’ is simply fretting about something that hasn't    even happened. Accept that you can’t see or change the future and try to  keep your thoughts in the here-and-now.
9.   Have fun – schedule enjoyable events and activities into every week.
10.  Exercise – it is such a good boost to the brain for all kinds of things but    especially in combatting depression and helping you to feel good.
11.  Be assertive – communicate your needs, wants, feelings, beliefs and    opinions to others in a direct and honest manner.
12.  Practise the above suggestions every day – it takes effort to replace  unhelpful thoughts and behaviours with healthier versions. Give yourself  time to establish the new habits. Keep a diary or journal to chart your  progress.

How to get your 'Spark' back....

Every now and then, I'm going to pull a card out as inspiration for your post. Today that card is 'Spark' from The Enchanted Map Oracle Cards by Colette Baron-Reid.
The message this brings is to let you know you have a spark of creativity in you, and every reason to move forward with optimism and hope.Open yourself to inspiration and allow life to show you it's beauty and your part in co-creating it. This is the perfect time to give birth to an idea, start a new relationship or job, or begin any endeavour. Attraction is high as you connect with others who can co-create joyous experiences and join with you in expressing the finer aspects of life. Watching a spark turn to a flame and stoking that fire is a gratifying activity.

Is there something you've been putting of which you really want to do? Do you have a list of things you want to get done but never seem to find the time?
Now is that time...make it happen! You don't have to do it all in one go. If it's something big, break it down into small steps and do it one step at a time.

If you think you're having blocks or challenges with your creativity here are a few ways which can help you get back in the zone...

1 - Change your scenery. Get out of the house, go to the beach, or a park or even just into your garden.

2 - Play some music. I find a bit of classical or relaxation works best for this. Not to relaxing as you don't want to fall asleep.

3 - Keep it Simple. We tend to over think things and complicate them. Keep it simple and free.

4 - Connect with your Inner Child. Have you noticed how children play with total abandonment. Try this, take time to enjoy yourself and laugh often preferably one of those laughs which are hard to control and take a while to subside.

5 - Use your Imagination. Before started watching too much television and films, we used to make our own fun, we used to let our imagination run wild and have the best time ever. Books are good for this. Let your imagination run wild.

If you are having difficulty finding time to do the things you would love to do, or getting moving with projects you have had sitting on the fence for a while now. I am offering a FREE No Obligation Discovery Session, which will allow us to work together one on one and really get rid of those stubborn blocks and unlock your potential.

Have an Empowered and Creative Week.
