Is eating affecting your mood?!

Have you noticed that when you eat certain foods, they make you feel lethargic and unmotivated and then others will make you feel energised?

If you are wondering why you never have any energy or motivation to get the things you want done...then before you do anything else I recommend you look at what you are eating.
It's too easy nowadays with all the fast food joints and ready meals to put absolute crap into our bodies. Most of these things have absolutely no nutritional value and lots of addictive additives. This is why when we eat them we feel drained but we'll go back because of the additives.

It only takes a week for you to get used to a new taste and it become normal for you so when you try a new healthier lifestyle of different foods don't give up on the first day, at least give it a week.

If you keep your eating to only fresh and whole foods, you will notice your energy will rise, mainly to the added nutrition but also because you won't have all the additives of package foods.

You know the saying 'You are what you eat!' It couldn't be more true.

I challenge you for the next week to keep a food diary with a difference.
Not only will you write down everything you put in your mouth but make a note of how you are feeling before you eat it and also after you've eaten.
You may even start questioning yourself before you eat something, "Do I really want to eat this or can I make a better choice?"
You will find with this new level of awareness, you will begin to make smarter and healthier choices for your body.

You Have All You Need!

So this week I decided it was time to pick a card again. I have used The Enchanted Map Oracle Deck by Colette Baron-Reid. The Card for the week is Talisman.

'A lesson truly learned is crystallised as earned wisdom. You have all you need for the success you seek.'

Your wisdom allows you to recognise any familiar patterns or traps you want to avoid. It also enables you to quickly gather information about where you are on your journey. It helps you recognise your friends and true allies and helps you find the best routes for you to take on your journey.
You are now at a place where you know the right things to do and the best choices to make. Fortune and Rewards await you. You have learned your lessons and earned the right to success.

Now if this isn't quite you yet, you probably need to become more aware of the repetitive patterns in your life. Sometimes the things that are most familiar carry with them the reminders of what you no longer want to experience. You can move forward cautiously, or you can look for another path, that will take you in a new direction. Deep down you know what is good  and right for you and accepting that not all avenues are available to you can be a powerful realisation. No matter what your journey is to gain greater wisdom and self awareness regardless of the choices you make.

One of the best ways I have found to tune into your inner knowledge and wisdom is to get out of your head and become heart centred. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and focus on your heart. Imagine yourself surrounded by a lovely green mist. This will bring calm, balance and then ask your question. You really do know what's right for you...Trust and Believe in yourself and you own inner knowing.

Do you struggle for Time?

Are you always running late for appointments and meetings? Do you always seem to be busy but never get what you want done ?

Here are a few ways to get you started in managing your time better...

  1. Know how you spend your time - Write down your plan for the week and schedule in everything you already know you are doing. Include your commutes, your breakfast, your lunch, gym time, and whatever else you can think of.
  2. Set your priorities - Schedule in your most important tasks and make a To Do List for the rest.
  3. Schedule time appropriately - If you have 15 mins spare and have a small job that needs doing fit in in there. Block out time for your important tasks.
  4. Eliminate Distractions - Things like games, Facebook, chatting about nothing in particular to friends...you can do this at the end of your day when you have achieved your priorities. Unplanned phone calls, let your voice mail pick up, you can call back later at a more convenient time for you.
  5. Delegate - Don't try to do everything yourself, get help where you can.
  6. Avoid Multi-Tasking - Do one thing at a time and then move to the next. You will find more focus and better concentration this way.
  7. Stay Healthy - Don't overtask yourself, always remember to take 10 min breathers through out the day where you can relax and keep the stress away.
I like to write out my plan for the week and then do a daily plan too....You will be surprised how much spare time you will find by doing this practice and becoming more productive with your time :-)

Do you notice the signs?

I was going to write about something else today but then I was woken up by not just one kookaburra but a whole gang of them, definitely a first for me. Anyway I decided to look into it a bit more and here's what it said....

Key words around the kookaburra are: Lighten Up, Sparkle, Treat yourself, rewards.
Preparation is key, this plants the seed so you can reap the rewards. Remember that you need to put in the effort, there are no quick fixes!
It's all about action and being fearless in overcoming obstacles and taking on new adventures.
Kookaburra reminds you to lighten up and not take yourself too seriously. If you lighten up so will others around you, remember to enjoy each day as it comes and enjoy the new day.

The medicine the Kookaburra brings to us is laughter and joy. His distinctive laughing call that can be heard, makes you feel like laughing along with him. It's all about stirring the joy that lives deep within your being.

Don't wait for the kookaburra though, laugh today, find and do something that brings you laughter and joy for these are the essence of our being.  Lighten up and enjoy! Life is for the enjoyment of living. Go to the park, enjoy the day. Visit a friend, or enjoy a relaxing massage. Treat yourself today!

Just in case that isn't enough reason for you, here are a few benefits to laughing more...
  • It produces a general sense of wellbeing
  • It triggers the release of endorphins
  • Boosts T Cells (These help you fight off sickness)
  • Improves your cardiac health
  • It's a great abdominal workout
  • It reduces stress
  • It lowers blood pressure
  • It increases memory and learning
  • Improves creativity and alertness
Hope you have an Empowered and Laugh filled week.
