Make everyday a holiday...

Have you ever said to yourself or others, "I sooo need a holiday"? I know I have and I still do but why should we wait for a holiday to do all the things we 'need' when we say this! We can incorporate little things into our daily life to make things easier, so then, the only reason we go on holiday is to see places we want to see and experience things we want to experience in certain places.

For example if you keep yourself so busy, the main thing you crave on a holiday is most likely a total relaxation fest, where you can just switch off and do next to nothing. Well how about you incorporate 20 mins of meditation or down time into your day where you do just that. I can guarantee by doing this you will feel less of a need for that type of holiday...
Whether you like the mountains, lakes, or the beach, make time to go there on your days off, take mini breaks away.

It's like working your best years to the bone in a job you can't stand so you can enjoy a retirement when your older. What if you were doing what you loved everyday of your life right now, would you want to retire then? I remember talking to someone who is loving what they do every day, this person takes mini retirements while they're still young enough to enjoy it and they just continue doing what they love....

Just a little something to think about;-)

Keep the faith :-)

There are a few things happening in my life at the moment, which are requiring me to keep the faith. I know certain things happen and it sometimes makes it hard to do so but having total trust and faith in whatever happens is the key.
Faith will change conditions for you....Doubts and fears impress negative pictures on the mind and bring lack, limitation or disaster.

In the word of Florence Scovel Shinn, "The experiences you meet in life are your own creations. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow said, "A man's life is the history of his fears." Why not make it the history of your faith so someday you can say,"This is the health that faith built! This is the wealth that faith built! This is the success and happiness that faith built!"

Faith is simply knowing that it can happen, that things can be done. Every unpleasant condition in your life is the result of a lack of faith. Follow your intuition and prepare for all the great things you've asked for, regardless of what else is going on around you.

Move with certainty and be sure of yourself. Only fear can hold you back, when you know there's no such thing as a wrong decision, you will trust yourself quite happily. Let go, allow and flow, you never know you might just enjoy it :-)

Have an Empowered and Faithful Week :-)

Keep it Simple!

Do you ever get to the stage where you have just too much going on? You feel like your head is about to explode? It seems like you never get any time to yourself?

Simplify your life, by simplifying your goals. UnClutter your life. Surround yourself with the ease of straightforward living and being.
No mountains out of molehills needed here. Just tell it like it is!
Be sincere and clear in your dealings with people and you will be rewarded with trust, recognition and honour.

Simplify Your Goals - Reduce the number of goals you are intentionally striving for in your life to one or two. By reducing the number of goals that you are striving for, you will improve your focus and your success rate. Make a list of the things you want to make happen in your life and choose the two most important. When you finish one, you can add another to your list.

Stop Multi Tasking - Multi-tasking increases stress and lowers productivity. Just do one job at a time and do it brilliant. When you've finished that then move on to the next one :-)

Time Commitments - Most of us have totally full days with all sorts of things crammed in, work, home, kid's activities, community events, hobbies, more work, exercise....you get the idea... When possible, release yourself from doing the things that are not in line with your highest values.

Simplify your Mind - Negative emotions are completely useless. They serve nothing and have never improved the quality of life for anyone. Take responsibility for your mind. Forgive past hurts and replace negative thoughts with positive ones :-)

Simply your Food - So much food is packaged and processed and full of artificial ingredients. Avoid trans fats, refined grain (white bread), high-fructose corn syrup, and too much sodium. Minimising these ingredients will improve your energy level in the short-term and your health in the long-term. Do yourself a favour and keep to fresh and whole foods as much as possible.

Minimise your media time - Television, Movies, Video games and technology affect your life more than you think. It rearranges your values and dominates your life, having an impact on your attitude and outlook. The only way to fully appreciate its influence in your life is to turn them off.

Simplify your money - If debt is holding you captive, reduce it. Start today. Do what you have to do to get out from under it's weight. Get help if you need to. The sooner you get it sorted, the sooner you can be free.

Say what you mean - Use less words. Keep what you have to say plain and honest. Mean what you say and avoid gossip.

Food for Thought

Have you ever looked on the food packets you buy to see exactly what your eating? Can you even pronounce some of those words, never mind know what they actually are?!

The truth is, if you want to be healthy, and especially if you want to lose weight, you really need to stop eating processed and packaged foods.
If you're eating fresh and whole foods (basically the kind which don't need a label) you won't need to count calories or anything like that. Your body recognises this as food and will digest it accordingly. The problem with processed and packaged foods is that half of these so called ingredients are unrecognisable to your internal systems and therefore will go straight to your fat stores and just keep getting bigger.
This is why many western countries today have around 38% of their population as obese because they don't know any better. People think by buying, low fat and so called 'healthy' packaged meals they are eating healthy, when in fact there is probably no nutritional value at all in these ready-made meals.

Do yourself and your body a favour and keep it fresh....It tastes so much better anyway and your body will thank you for it.

If your interested on reading more on the subject check out the links below......food for thought, most definitely :-)

Education is the key.

Need a Hug?!

Now, a few years ago, I definitely was never one for hugs, especially with people I hardly know, but I found with different circles I've hung out in many people think nothing to a casual hug and kiss on the cheek just as a way to say hello or goodbye.

These days however I think they are awesome and I recommend everyone to have at least one decent hug a day, preferably more, whether its with a friend, family member or total stranger that is completely up to you. Not only is hugging a powerful form of healing, but it is effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress. Here are a few other benefits that hugging can do for you...

1. Gives you a Sense of Safety
2. Boosts oxytocin levels - heals feelings of loneliness, isolation and anger.
3. Elevates your mood
4. Strengthens your Immune System.
5. Boosts Self Esteem
6. Releases tension
7. Helps you be more present in the moment

I don't know if you have ever heard the following statement made by a respected family therapist called Virginia Satir, but I find it quite interesting...She said “We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth.”
How many hugs do you currently have each day?? I would guess most of us are barely surviving. I don't know about you but I'm aiming for 8 or more. Grab the opportunity when you can, I highly recommend a good hug :-)

Have an empowered and hug filled week:-)

Keep Your Eye on the Ball

Did you ever get an idea that you get all fired up over only to wonder whatever happened to it??

I would guess that it was brilliant and would have turned out awesome but you got caught up in everyday life and other commitments and it didn't fully materialise into what you wanted.

I can put my hand up and say I've had many of those! The trick is of course to keep your eye on the ball. Keep your idea somewhere where it will stay at the front of your mind, even while you are doing your everyday chores and commitments.

Different ways to do this of course are:

Visualise it - Morning, Evening or both. It only takes 5 minutes or less if you're really good at it. I'm not so much a visual person as I am kinetic so when I do this I concentrate on how I know its going to make me feel.

Journal it - Keep a notebook or journal with you and whenever you get that spark of inspiration write it down or draw it.

Make a Vision board - You can do this on specific things or general, but have fun with it and then put it up somewhere you will see it often.

Create Action Steps - Even if they are the tiniest little baby steps, keep taking those action steps to make it happen. A little step towards your dream or idea is better than no steps at all, don't you think?

Hire a Coach - A coach will keep you on track and focused on your ideas and goals, keeping you motivated and empowered to make them happen.

I have some great packages available to help you start creating and living your dreams. You can help yourself to a little browse if you CLICK HERE.

Hope you have an Empowered Week :-)

Do you follow your Passion?

I used to think having passion for something was this big over dramatised thing that you often see on TV, where people get over excited or the opposite and start crying because they're so emotionally moved by something.

It doesn't have to be like this, having passion for something can be as simple as really loving what you are doing and that's what I'm all about.
You should never have to do something you don't like doing! Unfortunately most of us are bullied into it and the saddest thing about that, we are 'bullied' by our friends, family and loved ones.
Do any of these sound familiar....."You need to work full time so you can support your family." "It's all very well having your dreams but you need to get realistic."" We have bills to pay."
The fact is you can do this, and work all kinds of hours to support your loved ones but then where is the quality time you spend with them, often your too tired and just want to relax on the time you do get of, so the time you do have is far from quality.

Now I'm certainly not saying quit your job and abstain from any responsibility, but I am asking you to imagine what would your life be like, if you were doing something you truly loved to do and even get paid for it.
When you're happier, the people around you will be and when you're doing what you love, you'll find less problems and more to be grateful for, ultimately living a more fulfilled life.

One of the biggest questions we, as human beings ask ourselves, is "Why are we here?" To me it's not so much about the destination as the journey. I think ultimately, we are here to learn. I'm not talking about the school and educational learning. I'm talking about learning, how to be our true authentic self. This is how we come into this world but it is taken away with limitations and expectations put on to us from our parents, friends our school teachers our jobs, the government and that basically comes down to a control thing, but all of this as we are growing up takes us further and further away from our true selves. We fit in to society because that is what's expected.

What is one thing that you really love to do? What brings you joy? Is there something you have always wanted to try and have never got round to it?
This week find one thing you love doing or have always wanted to try and do it. It could be taking a dance class, a cooking class, it could be taking a nice candle lit bath or spending a few hours in nature. Give yourself this gift. You deserve it :-)

Have an Empowered and Joyful Week

Your Body & The Benefits of Movement

How do you move your body? Our bodies were designed for movement, not to be sat behind a desk all day or being glued to a couch. The fact is in today's society it is very easy to get lazy. You drive to work, then you sit behind a desk all day and because it is such a long day all you want to do is collapse on the couch when you get home...Does that sound familiar? Ok so maybe not everyone sits behind a desk all day, you may be on your feet, which is why that couch is even more tempting. The fact is not everyone likes the gym... and thats ok because you don't have to go to the gym if it's not your thing. There are plenty of other ways to get your body moving. It's only excuses why you don't get moving, but today I'm going to let you in on a few benefits to keeping your body moving, even if its only 30 minutes a day. I'll also be letting you know a few of my favourite exercises (and least favourite) that you can do anywhere, so there are NO EXCUSES.

So here are a few of the benefits to getting your body moving are:

It helps with Weight Control - Engaging in physical activity burns calories, the more intense the activity the more you burn.

Helps combat health conditions and diseases - By being active, this boosts high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or "good," cholesterol and decreases unhealthy triglycerides. This keeps your blood flowing smoothly, which decreases your risk of cardiovascular diseases. Not just that, regular physical activity can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns.

It improves your mood - Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals which improve your mood, helps you feel happier and more relaxed.

It gives you energy - However tired and lethargic you feel before exercising you can bet you feel 100 times better once you've actually done it. Something to do with it delivering oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helping your cardiovascular system work more efficiently.

It promotes better sleep - Exercise is great for helping you get a good nights sleep just don't do it too close to going to sleep as you may be too energised.

It can put the spark back in to your sex life - Due to exercise giving you more energy and of course looking better, this can easily have a positive effect on your sex life, not only that but exercise can lead to enhanced arousal in both men and women.

It's Fun  - I have a rule, if it's not fun don't do it. Choose exercise's, sports and activities you enjoy. If you do this it will never be a chore and you will find yourself looking forward to this part of your day.

Click HERE for a link to 20 great body weight exercises that you can do anywhere. This shows the basic exercise, however you can easily make alterations to up the intensity or lower the intensity depending on your fitness level.
My favourites are the burpee, switch lunges and frog jumps:-)

Have a Fit and Empowered Week:-)

Do you communicate well?

This week I decided to pull a card from my Gateway Oracle Deck by Denise Linn. The card is Communicating Freely - "I communicate from the depths of my being."

Are you being truthful, not just with yourself but with others?
I know sometimes we hold back on what we really want to say, because we fear people will, not like what we have to say, or take it the wrong way, or they may get upset.
Truthfully though, in the long run you will be doing more harm than good....For you to be happy and fulfilled in life you need to live in your truth, not someone else's. Say what you need to say and be authentic and you will be appreciated more for that. If someone still has issues with what you're saying, it's actually their own issues, of which they need to deal with. Once they've done that, if they truly care for you and want to be a part of your life, they'll come back.

I look around and see and talk to so many different people each day, who aren't living in their truth because of fear of what other people will do, say or think and these people are not happy....it's something they openly admit to.

Do you really think it's right to give up your happiness, your life for the sake of keeping others happy?! If these people truly loved you and wanted you to be happy, they would encourage you to follow your truth.
Everyone has something to share in this world, whether it's being the best mum you can be to your child, the best partner to your spouse, the best employee at your job....it doesn't matter what it is, it is just as important as being an International Speaker or famous guru as long as you are being true to yourself.

Communication has the power to restore trust and mend lifelong wounds.Take a risk and speak from your soul with clarity and authenticity, even if it isn't easy for you to do. If you don't, all that is left unspoken becomes a burden.

Have an Empowered Week of Communicating Freely.

The Art of Non attachment

Many of us think the more we focus on something, the more likely we can make it happen. This is part right because we do need to stay focused on the goal we want to achieve, but if we focus too much and become attached to the outcome, this creates blocks and delays or stops it from happening.

The Art of Non Attachment is trusting that whatever it is you are wanting to create or manifest will happen in the right way. You don't need to know the details of how, just be aware of opportunities when they present themselves and take them.
Allow things to flow naturally and let go of any negative feelings that pop up due to being to attached, feelings like, fear, worry and doubt.

Through non-attachment you really can create and manifest anything you need. You just need to keep the faith, trust it will happen and take the opportunities when they are presented to you.

Have an Empowered Week of Non-Attachment:-)

Are you a Control Freak?!

Do you like to do everything yourself? This week is about letting you know you can still maintain control without doing everything yourself and burning yourself out.
I decided to choose a card for you this week from my Wisdom of the Hidden Realms Oracle deck by Colette Baron-Reid. The card I chose is 'The Horse King'.

The Horse King brings you the power to go the distance, whatever your circumstance. He also reminds you that you don't have to do everything on your own. Delegate to others so they can help you. You are in a position to make your dreams come true, but remain open to those that can help you. Let go of control and amazing things can happen.

Here are a few practical tips to help:

1 - Start slow, surrender a little control at a time. You don't have to do it all at once.

2 - Understand that people are different and although they may not do things the same way as you, their way could be just as effective and in some cases more so.

3 - Share. You don't have to feel like you'll be burdening people and the more you share your life with those closest to you, your relationships will improve.

4 - Trust, Set guidelines for how you want things done and trust that whoever you are giving that bit of control too will follow them. They will want you to trust them just as much as you want to trust them.

5 - Ask for Help, You really don't have to do it all yourself and more often than not people are really happy to help. It's one of the basic human needs to be able to contribute.

Have an Empowering Week :-)

Feeling Stuck?

Feeling stuck feeling usually comes from three main reasons. Either you don’t know what you want next in your life or career or you know what you want but have no idea how to go after it or you feel trapped. Sometimes you just feel stuck and aren’t sure why.
Everybody feels stuck from time to time. The question is, how do you get yourself out of that rut?!

The following things can help..

  • Do something constructive. This can be something as crappy as washing up the dishes, making your bed or clearing a pile of clutter. It can be as simple as drinking a glass of water, eating an apple or going for a walk. Just get of your ass and do something constructive.
  • Challenge your thinking. When you are feeling stuck, and that's all it is by the way, just a feeling but if you are feeling this way then typically you are resisting something in your now-moment. Usually what you resist is not the thing itself, but what you imagine about it. So, ask yourself, “What am I making up about this?”
  • Expand your awareness of what is possible. When you are stagnating, you have stopped being curious about possibilities. Expand your awareness of real, tangible potentials you have that can be acted upon with the time, energy and money you have right now. Explore the alternatives to what you are doing right now, and take care that you do not pre-judge a possibility before you have had a chance to investigate it.
  • Break your pattern! Feeling stuck and stagnant follows a pattern. Find the pattern in your thought process, your behaviour and your choices. Choose something in your pattern and do one small thing differently to change that pattern.
  • Do what you can do, one thing at a time. If you are feeling overwhelmed it probably means you’re taking on too much at once. You may not be able move a 500kg pallet of boxes, but you can probably lift and carry one 10kg box. Divide up the task at hand and do just what you can do right now.
  • Take care of yourself. Rest when you are tired. Eat when you are hungry. Get off your aching feet. Avoid medicating with alcohol, drugs or food. Don’t veg out in front of the television or lose yourself in cyber space. If you tend to over-function, the world won’t fall apart if you stop to look at a sunset, read a chapter in a good book or slip into a hot bath. Taking care of yourself also depends upon not responding to the needs of others when doing so puts your own self-care in jeopardy.
You can of course also book a FREE 'Breakthrough to Fulfilment Discovery Session' with me. By doing this you will get a clear path of how you can start making the changes you desire right now. We will explore your biggest concerns and how we can fix them and we'll discuss your next steps and plan of action. After this session you will have renewed energy and motivation for creating your life your way.

Is eating affecting your mood?!

Have you noticed that when you eat certain foods, they make you feel lethargic and unmotivated and then others will make you feel energised?

If you are wondering why you never have any energy or motivation to get the things you want done...then before you do anything else I recommend you look at what you are eating.
It's too easy nowadays with all the fast food joints and ready meals to put absolute crap into our bodies. Most of these things have absolutely no nutritional value and lots of addictive additives. This is why when we eat them we feel drained but we'll go back because of the additives.

It only takes a week for you to get used to a new taste and it become normal for you so when you try a new healthier lifestyle of different foods don't give up on the first day, at least give it a week.

If you keep your eating to only fresh and whole foods, you will notice your energy will rise, mainly to the added nutrition but also because you won't have all the additives of package foods.

You know the saying 'You are what you eat!' It couldn't be more true.

I challenge you for the next week to keep a food diary with a difference.
Not only will you write down everything you put in your mouth but make a note of how you are feeling before you eat it and also after you've eaten.
You may even start questioning yourself before you eat something, "Do I really want to eat this or can I make a better choice?"
You will find with this new level of awareness, you will begin to make smarter and healthier choices for your body.

You Have All You Need!

So this week I decided it was time to pick a card again. I have used The Enchanted Map Oracle Deck by Colette Baron-Reid. The Card for the week is Talisman.

'A lesson truly learned is crystallised as earned wisdom. You have all you need for the success you seek.'

Your wisdom allows you to recognise any familiar patterns or traps you want to avoid. It also enables you to quickly gather information about where you are on your journey. It helps you recognise your friends and true allies and helps you find the best routes for you to take on your journey.
You are now at a place where you know the right things to do and the best choices to make. Fortune and Rewards await you. You have learned your lessons and earned the right to success.

Now if this isn't quite you yet, you probably need to become more aware of the repetitive patterns in your life. Sometimes the things that are most familiar carry with them the reminders of what you no longer want to experience. You can move forward cautiously, or you can look for another path, that will take you in a new direction. Deep down you know what is good  and right for you and accepting that not all avenues are available to you can be a powerful realisation. No matter what your journey is to gain greater wisdom and self awareness regardless of the choices you make.

One of the best ways I have found to tune into your inner knowledge and wisdom is to get out of your head and become heart centred. Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths and focus on your heart. Imagine yourself surrounded by a lovely green mist. This will bring calm, balance and then ask your question. You really do know what's right for you...Trust and Believe in yourself and you own inner knowing.

Have an Empowered Week

Do you struggle for Time?

Are you always running late for appointments and meetings? Do you always seem to be busy but never get what you want done ?

Here are a few ways to get you started in managing your time better...

  1. Know how you spend your time - Write down your plan for the week and schedule in everything you already know you are doing. Include your commutes, your breakfast, your lunch, gym time, and whatever else you can think of.
  2. Set your priorities - Schedule in your most important tasks and make a To Do List for the rest.
  3. Schedule time appropriately - If you have 15 mins spare and have a small job that needs doing fit in in there. Block out time for your important tasks.
  4. Eliminate Distractions - Things like games, Facebook, chatting about nothing in particular to friends...you can do this at the end of your day when you have achieved your priorities. Unplanned phone calls, let your voice mail pick up, you can call back later at a more convenient time for you.
  5. Delegate - Don't try to do everything yourself, get help where you can.
  6. Avoid Multi-Tasking - Do one thing at a time and then move to the next. You will find more focus and better concentration this way.
  7. Stay Healthy - Don't overtask yourself, always remember to take 10 min breathers through out the day where you can relax and keep the stress away.
I like to write out my plan for the week and then do a daily plan too....You will be surprised how much spare time you will find by doing this practice and becoming more productive with your time :-)

Have an Empowered and Productive Week

Do you notice the signs?

I was going to write about something else today but then I was woken up by not just one kookaburra but a whole gang of them, definitely a first for me. Anyway I decided to look into it a bit more and here's what it said....

Key words around the kookaburra are: Lighten Up, Sparkle, Treat yourself, rewards.
Preparation is key, this plants the seed so you can reap the rewards. Remember that you need to put in the effort, there are no quick fixes!
It's all about action and being fearless in overcoming obstacles and taking on new adventures.
Kookaburra reminds you to lighten up and not take yourself too seriously. If you lighten up so will others around you, remember to enjoy each day as it comes and enjoy the new day.

The medicine the Kookaburra brings to us is laughter and joy. His distinctive laughing call that can be heard, makes you feel like laughing along with him. It's all about stirring the joy that lives deep within your being.

Don't wait for the kookaburra though, laugh today, find and do something that brings you laughter and joy for these are the essence of our being.  Lighten up and enjoy! Life is for the enjoyment of living. Go to the park, enjoy the day. Visit a friend, or enjoy a relaxing massage. Treat yourself today!

Just in case that isn't enough reason for you, here are a few benefits to laughing more...
  • It produces a general sense of wellbeing
  • It triggers the release of endorphins
  • Boosts T Cells (These help you fight off sickness)
  • Improves your cardiac health
  • It's a great abdominal workout
  • It reduces stress
  • It lowers blood pressure
  • It increases memory and learning
  • Improves creativity and alertness
Hope you have an Empowered and Laugh filled week.

Create your best life by Goal Setting...

Are you the kind of person who has a clear picture of where you want to go and what you want to achieve but you never seem to get round to doing anything about it? Or are you just living day to day with no particular focus on what you want? Almost everyone wishes to change something in our lives. Whether it is family life, friendship, career or finances, health or relationships. We all want to change something and the way to get started on this is to set goals.
There are loads of benefits to goal setting and the following are just a few benefits...

1. You take control of your life
Setting goals gives you direction and helps you choose where to go in life. It gives you vision about your ideal future and how you can turn it into reality. When you have achieved the goal, you improve your life and become a better version of yourself.
2. You focus on the important things
Goals help us to sort out what is important and what isn't. You will spend more time focusing on what you want to achieve and establish your priorities based on the long term view of whats important to you.
3. You will be self-confident and enthusiastic
When you set a goal and measure the achievement, you are able to see what you have done and what you are capable of. This process of achieving goals gives you the confidence and a belief in your self and you become enthusiastic too.
4. You will make progress
After you have achieved one goal, you will set your sights higher to achieve higher goals. In the long term, you will see the massive progress you have made.

Always make your goals SMART.
You can make goals for all areas of your life but for now choose an area your the most motivated to work in.
Then set goals for what you want to achieve in the next 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months.
Once you've done that write down your actionable steps and start making them happen.

Have an empowered and focused week.

Much Love & Gratitude

Acknowledge your Achievements

This week I decided to pull a card from the Gaia Oracle by Toni Carmine Salerno, which is very apt as I wanted to write about this anyway.
The card I pulled is 'Achievement' and your message is as follows...

You will soon achieve a goal you had set for yourself. Your hard work and persistence is about to pay off. Know that you deserve all the success that is coming your way. Quietly acknowledge this to yourself as you celebrate your achievements. Thank the Earth and the Universe for this blessing in the knowledge that all you do is a co-creation with the higher powers that be. Then refocus your attention back to the task at hand. Do not lose sight of your original purpose and intention. This is only the beginning; much more can be accomplished provided you keep focused on your dream. Remember what is truly important to you. It may be helpful to set a new goal. This could be bigger and more fulfilling than you ever imagined.

Keep focused on your dream...make your goals, then make your action steps all the time keeping your dreams in mind.

Here is a little affirmation to go with the card....You can use this or make your own.

I give thanks for all the success coming my way.
All I do is a co-creation with my higher self and the universal light of love.
I keep focused on my dream.
What I imagine, I create.
I am grateful for what I have achieved.

My FREE "Breakthrough to Fulfilment' Discovery Session can also help you with this. Just follow the link below  to book yourself in.
